1977 Jim Douglas Charter Member Coleman.gifIf two things ever should be mentioned in one breath, they are Jim Douglas and Coleman. "More than teaching just winning, he has taught sportsmanship, dedication, and team play. They are hundreds of boys who are better men because of Jim Douglas." Those were the words of George Martin at a testimonial for Jim at Coleman.

Mr. Douglas (as most referred to him), was also teacher of the year for Wisconsin in 1959 for his teaching in biology and chemistry. Later he was an elementary school counselor.

As a coach, he has produced five state team championships and two runner-up teams. Thirteen of his boys won individual state titles. His overall record while at Coleman was 124-6-2.

He also coached at the University of Maryland and was a Big Ten wrestler at Purdue.
