Alyssa LampeAlyssa Lampe, the daughter of Jeff and Judy Lampe is a 2006 graduate of Tomahawk High School. Alyssa became involved in wrestling at a young age, as there was no one to drill with her brother at youth wrestling.  Youth coaches did an amazing job coaching her in club wrestling setting a solid foundation of wrestling skills.  In addition, her parents devoted countless hours taking her to competitions throughout the years and she would like to thank them for all of their support regardless of the outcome.

Alyssa took her lumps along the way, never asking for an easy path or for her teammates to take it easy on her.  She worked extremely hard and was an excellent competitor each and every time she stepped on the mat.

She accomplished amazing things in high school boys wrestling that were unheard of at the time.  Alyssa was an example of what females could do if given the opportunity.  During her high school career, she was 133-21, an .811 winning percentage.  In addition to All-Conference honors she was the first female to win Regional and Sectional titles in the state of Wisconsin.

Alyssa was a pioneer for girls across the state and nation.  She made history when she became the first female to qualify for boys state her sophomore year and continued all the way to the State finals her senior year.  She had the eyes of the state and nation on her.

Alyssa was a quiet young lady who expected great things from herself.  She never offered excuses when she did not perform as she wished to.  She simply worked harder in the wrestling room and weight room to be better the next time.

Throughout her career she was a great ambassador for Wisconsin wrestling.  In many communities she was the talk of the sport of wrestling.

Alyssa fell short of her goal to compete in the 2016 Olympics and stepped away from competing.  However, after working with a youth program, her passion was reignited, and she has come out of retirement in hopes of fulfilling her lifelong dream of competing for the USA in the Olympics and has the 2020 Olympics in her sight.

Goals for the future are to coach on the collegiate level someday and give back to the sport which has positively developed her life over the years.
