Herb Ostrand is retired from coaching but is remembered as one of the old timers who was a very modest coach. Herb coached wrestling at Wisconsin High School, Fort Atkinson and Sevastapol for a combination of over twenty years.

In 1958-59 he served as President of the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association.

During his tenure as a coach Ostrand had 41 of his wrestlers advance to the State Tournament ... in 1956 his entire team qualified for the state meet
