Joe Semrad is best known for his accomplishments as a wrestler and his volunteer work with youth groups. As a wrestler in high school at Nathan Hale in West Allis, Semrad was a State Champion at 120 pounds in 1962.
Upon graduation from high school Semrad established himself as an outstanding collegiate wrestler at Oshkosh State where he was a three-time State University Champion in 1963-64-65. He was also a First Team N.A.I.A. District 14 selection in those years and was named M.V.P. in District 14 in 1965. During those 3 years Joe was also Captain of the Oshkosh Team.
Semrad's win-loss record for high school and college was 98-10. In 1976 he added the State A.A.U. Title at 123 pounds to his list of accomplishments.
Semrad has given a great deal of his personal time and energy to work with youth wrestling programs in New Berlin and Waukesha.
